Soundwave disguised as Blaster!
I’ve been a fan of Soundwave and never got to pick this piece up when the Cybertron series was going on. Glad to see this re-colored re-issue. Certainly doesn’t bear any resemblence to the autobot Blaster, including the ‘minicon’ inside as Blaster never had a bird. Except for the color scheme and the autobot symbol, this bears more resemblence to Soundwave than anything else.
That said, I think it’s a real cool toy. The chest compartment that opens up to reveal the ‘bombs’ is really cool, and you can even store on the weapons in there, instead of the mini-con Blockroc. The jet mode is very much like a F-117A Nighthawk.
The transformation is a little on the difficult side, compared to most other toys I have, but it’s not that bad.
I’m thinking of removing the autobot symbols so that I can imagine it’s actually Soundwave with Lazerbeak!
