Kindle vs. Sony’s Reader5
I have owned the first generation Sony Reader since last December, and read over twenty books on it, and just recently purchased the Kindle. While the Kindle is not perfect, it is superior to the Sony Reader in several meaningful ways that make it a far superior choice: 1) the number of books available for purchase for the Kindle is as least triple the number available from Sony. I haven’t subcribed to any magazines or newspapers on the Kindle, but the book selection alone is reason enough in my opinion to choose the Kindle over the Reader. 2) The screen contrast is better on the Kindle, so reading is easier. 3) The Kindle has six font sizes to choose from instead of three sizes on the Reader. 4) Changing pages is easier on the Kindle due to larger lever bars on both sides of the screen, instead of smaller buttons, and the Kindle seems ato change pages a little faster. 5) The Kindle can hold over double the number of books in its internal memory. 6) Buying books is far easier; they are transferred directly to the Kindle without having to be downloaded first to a computer. I do like Sony’s cover/device holder better than Kindle’s and when I bought my Sony a couple of days after last Christmas, the net price after an included $50 book allowance was only $170. So Sony’s price was a lot lower, although the price difference now is minimal. Neither product does a very good job with pictures, and neither one has color. I liked the Sony, but bought the Kindle because the greater selection of books was important to me. The other advantages I’ve mentioned confirm for me that the Kindle is a far better product.

love it!5
Love it!, easy to use, one of the best features is the font choices. It’s easy on the eyes, I have arthritis in both hands so this is easy to hold. Way to easy to get into trouble in the shop kindle store, have to put myself on a budget, you don’t need a computer or go to the mall, you just need a thumb to push a button to buy a book!I recently went on a camping trip and instead of a whole bag of books, all I took was my Kindle. The savings on book prices, Kindle will pay for itself in notime

happy reader5
i have had my kindle for three weeks now and i love it . it fits comfortably in my hands, is light to carry and i can have endless (almost) books at my beck and call at any time. i am an avid reader averageing 3-5 books daily, depending on how busy i am at work, and it is so much easier to carry one device rather than a stack of books. since i am one of those readers that reads in line at the bank, or at a long redlight, etc (i know annoying of me, but at least i don’t read in the shower anymore)i always have my fix handy now. thanks amazon for a wonderful toy/drug for an addicted reader. as the quote goes when i have a little money i spend it on books, the rest i spend on food and clothes………to be redundant, i love it. my only complaint is that i did not get one earlier. carolyn
